Chill out at the Cape Town Carnival with Bluewater, drinking water so cool it’s as pure as nature intended

Cape Town, March 15, 2018 – Visitors to the 2018 Cape Town Carnival will be dazzled by over 2,000 costumed performers and musicians who will take to Cape Town’s Fan Walk on March 17, entertaining viewers with floats and vibrant dance routines followed by a family party, showcasing some of SA's hottest musical talent. And throughout the carnival, revellers will be able to drink water as pure as nature intended supplied from Bluewater water stations that will recreate water normally considered undrinkable in order to protect Cape Town’s scarce mania water supplies and at the same time halt the need to rely on single-use plastic bottles that end up in landfill or our seas, posing a threat to ocean, human and planetary health.

“The Cape Town Carnival is a celebration of all that is welcoming, nurturing and abundant and it makes total sense for us at Bluewater to partner with the organisers to ensure everyone enjoying the fun can stay well-hydrated without putting any pressure on the city’s beleaguered water stocks,” said James Steere, head of Bluewater South Africa. He suggested everyone visiting the carnival to use their own refillable water bottles that they can fill, free of charge with Bluewater's pristine drinking water.

Bluewater will be supplying two water stations providing over 5,000 litres of pure water purified by the company’s unique, patented second generation reverse osmosis technology. Each water station is able to to deliver up to 7,000 litres of purified water per day from a single purifier no larger than an old PC computer tower, a world beating clean water delivery rate that can see a 500 ml bottle filled in just 7 seconds for still water and 9 seconds for sparkling.

“We are really excited about the partnership with Bluewater and want to encourage everyone coming to the Cape Town Carnival to bring their own refillable water bottles rather than throwaway plastic bottles. That way we all will be contributing to a healthier event and future,” said Jay Douwes, CEO of the Cape Town Carnival.

In addition to serving up water as pure as nature intended, Bluewater water stations also help battle the need to use single-use plastic water bottles, which usually end up in landfill or our oceans to pose a threat to human and planetary health.

“Typically Bluewater event water dispenser systems have the potential to save the use of tens of thousands of plastic bottles at events running over several day’s which is good news for everyone visiting the Cape Town Carnival, for the rest of us and for the planet!” said James Steere.
